An Overview About Us

Overview | Bridging Two Great Trade Partners

The U.S. India Importers’ Council (USIIC) is a distinctive not-for-profit initiative launched by a coalition of Indian SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) Importers, orchestrating over $1 billion in imports from the USA.

Originating from the historic visit of U.S. President Barack Obama to India in 2010, USIIC was conceived in collaboration with the US Department of Trade & Commerce. This partnership was solidified through a strategic MOU with the U.S. Commercial Service, International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, aimed at establishing a council to support Indian importers in sourcing from the US and facilitating American exporters and manufacturers in exporting to India, with a special emphasis on SMEs.

USIIC stands as a pioneering organization dedicated to addressing the specific needs of Indian importers while serving as a vital intermediary to foster trade and partnerships between Indian and American businesses. Through its pivotal role, USIIC is committed to driving economic growth between the US and India, focusing on enabling Indian importers to efficiently source from the US, and assisting US exporters in penetrating the Indian market.
