M. Jagannath Rai : Pioneering Leader in Global Freight Forwarding
M. Jagannath Rai, fondly known as M.J, is currently the Founder Director and Ex-Chairman of USIIC and the Managing Director of Titan Sea & Air Services Private Limited (TSAS), a distinguished global freight forwarding company. A 1983 graduate of Mangalore University, MJ embarked on his logistics career at Mackinnon Mackenzie Limited, a prominent British shipping company and one of India’s oldest and largest foreign freight forwarders. His early experience also includes a significant role at Air Link India Limited, now known as Bollore Logistics, where he managed charter flights for the U.S. and chartered vessels worldwide.
In 1994, MJ founded Titan Sea & Air Services Private Limited, marking his transition to entrepreneurship. The company, ISO and AEO certified, specializes in sea and air freight, particularly in transporting projects and machinery on a door-to- door basis globally.
MJ initiated Titan Overseas Corporation Pvt. Ltd. in 1999, an international trading firm that was recognized by the U.S. Government for its role in supporting U.S. exports to India, an accolade presented by both the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai. Additionally, he also chaired the Shipping Line Committee at BCBA (Brihanmumbai Customs Brokers Association) from 2014 to 2020.
MJ’s current roles also include Managing Committee Member of the Brihanmumbai Custom House Agents’ Association (BCHAA), and Trustee of the Gajanan Leela Charitable Trust, which he established in 1998 to aid over 600 orphan children in becoming independent.
Through his visionary leadership and extensive experience, M. Jagannath Rai has significantly contributed to the growth and innovation of the global logistics industry.
